Just got my first two "no's". The agents were both considerate and prompt, no raining on my sweet young parade. It really did feel like I was looking for the right one and these two just weren't it. I'm glad they knew it and we didn't waste time. I was glad to have that out of the way; now I'm not scared anymore. I know my book's (adoptive) "mother" is out there waiting for Daisy to Come Home. Being connected to the industry in this one little way actually felt like I'm in transition from writer to author. It felt progressive. And your statement "Every piece I've submitted has eventually found its home -- wow! That couldn't be more encouraging. Thanks

I love your positive outlook! I think we naturally tend to focus more on the acceptance/rejection part of the publishing process because for us a No means we failed and a Yes means we succeeded. But like you said, all these No's are really just stepping stones. In the end, once you get that Yes, all those No's don't matter anymore - they were just there to help you on the way.

Thank you for the confidence booster. :)
