Past Perfect Columnist
When Pamela Taylor’s inspiration for her first book led to a series of six novels, that was the nudge she needed to leave the corporate world behind for the world of words and imagination. Her European history major in college was just the beginning of a lifelong passion for all things historical.
An avid traveler, her favorite places to visit are those where she can imagine the lives of the people who lived there fifty years or five centuries ago. Some of those places have found their way into her novels, although she admits transplanting one of them to an entirely different location to serve the needs of her plot. Among her favorite authors, in no particular order, are Ken Follett, Bernard Cornwell, Edward Rutherfurd, Alison Weir, Colleen McCullough, and Jack Whyte.
Pamela supports her writing habit as a freelance editor. Not only does she enjoy helping others along their journey to publication, but she also finds that process helps her in polishing her own craft. Her debut novel Second Son – the first volume of The Second Son Chronicles – is scheduled for release on July 19, 2018. She lives in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area with two Pembroke Welsh Corgis who frequently remind her that a dog walk is a good way to find inspiration for that next chapter.
