I think #2 is a common one, something all of us do at one time or another. The more aware of it we become though, the more we begin to naturally use the other senses more. 🙂

Setting is really just an amazing storytelling vehicle. I hope writers think deeply about all it can do, because it will really allow them to level up their stories!
