Hi Gabriela,

Well done on the work you carry week in week out!

Quite some time ago joined from Sydney Australia, your "DIY MFA community" with lots of enthusiasm and full of dreams of getting involved with your programs. Somehow, I didn't stick to my promise for the many reasons that afflict 70% of this hectic world: not making time, other priorities, short of money, not using tweeter, and being plain busy, etc. Yet, I continue reading from time to time and could not help looking at your clever tips and stopping to make some remarks and comments to my fellow USA writers and others too.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express and share some of my views with you and your readership. I wish you addressed them/us with... a 'different and more positive label' such as 'My Dear Word Kings' and My Dear Word Queens? Or as you seem to like acronyms MDWK and MDWQ !!! - I don't have anything against whoever calls himself/herself 'nerd'. Nonetheless, personally it does sound a bit pejorative and patronising, thus it has created some sort of allergy and now realise this may be another reason why I do not warm to your articles or programs yet? And unfortunately you go on repeating it several times in your article. You are the boss of this webpage, run it and probably own it, feel free to utilise or delete my suggestion. I am a great believer in 'positive psychology' and positive reinforcements all the way. BTW: Our brain doesn't have a "sense of humour" like we do?

As for the so called 'disappointing' political outcomes of your marathon-election campaign" that a lot of people have been vocalising, writing, demonstrating and admonishing OTHERS. I have some news for you fellow Americans, you have for yonks (long years been apathetic about your elections and when your privileges are at risk all of the sudden 'outcry'! - USA politicians and parliament should learn about Dreaming Big & Acting Small??

Your are the staunchest defenders of freedom of speech and democracy, also invaders of countries to impose and enforce democracy BUT you can not take your own medicine? I'd call this "double-standards", capriciousness, contempt, rebel without a cause and may more labels fitting the occasion and your manifestations of displeasure.

May be there is a big 'intrinsic lesson' within these occurrences, perhaps USA could start educating its own citizens (and immigrants too) about the obligations of democracy! And incidentally stop wasting billions of dollars in 'wars and peace keeping exercises' and INVEST IT in much needed internal help for people affected by disasters, diseases, crime, mental health, ignorance, etc.

Please keep thinking, debating, expressing your views and mixing with your fellow human beings from the four corners of the world BUT also learn 'to cope' like the majority of people that do not get their way, that suffer under tyranny and dictatorships. Learn to live and let live. The Rule of Law is a wonderful "Self-Help Book" let's use it as often as possible, we will all benefit from it.

With kindest regards ad best wishes,

Enrique Edgardo Rodriguez (TOPO)
