I've used Dramatica Pro to outline a couple of stories. IMHO, it's the procrastinator's dream! It goes into such detail and produces such a large number of pages and pages of reports, it's easy to get bogged down in all the theory it applies to your story. As a left-brained writer, I found it wonderful at first. Then two weeks later, still sifting over all the data, I realized I needed to put all that aside and just write the story. My advice: use with caution!

Thanks for the tips Bess! Have you tried Dramatica Pro? Incredibly involved and hard to fathom at first but it really gets to the 'flesh and blood and bones' of a story. I'd love your feedback if you've tried it.
