There are a lot of books out there. How does YOUR book stand out?
You might have the most amazing book in the world, but no one will find it (and buy it!) if they don’t know where to look. This is why it’s so important to develop your author platform and connect with your readers.
Many authors dread marketing. Some worry that it will mean selling out or not being true to themselves and their artistic vision. Others are afraid promotion will take over their lives and leave no time for writing (or anything else). Some even fear they won’t have anything to say. Why would anyone want to read their blog or newsletter anyway?
This is why so many writers are are all too happy to hand off their marketing and publicity efforts to a “professional” and call it a day.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
I believe you are the best-qualified person to promote yourself because no one knows your book as well as you. Also, as a writer you are naturally good at marketing because you are already know how to tell stories that captivate your readers.
You have skills, you just need the strategy. Here’s where I come in. I’ve come up with a way to help you create a personalized plan so you can build your authentic author platform.

- Book launch strategy: The last thing you need to worry about when you’re gearing up for a book launch is building your platform from scratch. You might already know the basics, but some focused mentoring can help you develop a concrete plan so you don’t lose sight of what really matters: launching your book.
Build Your Platform
Through one-on-one mentoring sessions, we will build your platform from the ground up. By the end of our work together, you will have the fundamental components of your platform done and in place, as well as a clear plan for how to keep your platform momentum going.
In practical terms, this means you get…
- A personalized, in-depth platform assessment. I will review your website and social media presence as well as information you provide in your Platform Questionnaire. Prior to our first call, I will also compile a personalized platform assessment for us to discuss during that intensive session.
- One intensive session (120 minutes) so we can dive deep into your overall body of work and look closely at how your author platform complements and supports your current writing project(s). We’ll also assess any gaps in your platform and areas for improvement. Together we’ll come up with a clear plan on how to move forward so you can implement what we discussed.
- One follow-up call (60 minutes) so we can check in and discuss your progress. We’ll troubleshoot any hurdles you might be facing and make adjustments to that original plan now that you have had a chance to put some of those strategies to work.
- Complimentary access to the Pixels to Platform (P2P) premium online course, including: Facebook group, critique call archive, and access to subsequent critique calls. This will help you get some fundamental components in place before we meet.
- Unlimited email access to me between the time when you enroll and four weeks after our final call. This is a safety net so even after your sessions are over, you have support via email to ask questions, get feedback, and brainstorm ideas.

A few of these mentoring spots have already been filled by my Pixels to Platform alumni, so only a couple remain open. Also, I do very little one-on-one consulting these days, and because of an intense speaking and travel schedule later this spring and summer, I likely will not offer this mentoring package again for a while.
