Hosted by instigator Gabriela Pereira, this show emulates the traditional MFA speaker series where authors and industry experts speak to students about writing, but makes these conversations accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

About the DIY MFA Podcast
This show began as a series of solo episodes with Gabriela jamming about writing topics that struck her fancy with a few interviews sprinkled in for fun. Those interviews became so popular that Gabriela soon started doing more and more. Eventually this podcast has become a popular weekly interview show featuring bestselling authors, debuts, and experts in the publishing industry.
In each episode Gabriela and her guest do a deep dive into one specific aspect of writing, looking either at the craft, the business side, or both. Check out the archive and listen in while Gabriela and her guests geek out over books, writing, and all things literary.
More recently, Gabriela has decided to go back to basics and has returned to the original solo show format. In these newer episodes, she chooses a theme and does blocks of solo episodes focusing on topics related to that theme. The most recent series has been “Ten Lessons from Ten Years of Podcasting.”
